Job Summary:
The Fire Investigator is responsible for conducting thorough investigations into the origin and cause of fires, explosions, and other related incidents. This includes collecting and analyzing evidence, interviewing witnesses, preparing detailed reports, and providing expert testimony when required. Key Responsibilities:

2. Collect, preserve, and analyze physical evidence, including but not limited to, fire debris, accelerants, and electrical components.
3. Utilize specialized tools and equipment for fire scene documentation, including photography, sketches, and diagrams.
4. Interview witnesses, victims, and other individuals relevant to the investigation to gather information and statements.
5. Coordinate efforts with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and insurance companies to ensure collaboration and information sharing during investigations.
6. Prepare detailed investigative reports, documenting findings, observations, and conclusions based on scientific and legal principles.
7. Provide expert testimony in court proceedings, presenting findings and analysis in a clear and professional manner.
8. Stay informed about current trends, regulations, and advancements in fire investigation techniques, attending relevant training and professional development opportunities.
9. Maintain accurate records, case files, and evidence storage in accordance with established protocols and legal requirements.
10. Collaborate with other fire investigators and departmental staff on special projects, initiatives, and research related to fire investigation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field.

3. Certification as a Fire Investigator, such as Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) or equivalent.
